NuFloorSite As-Built
NuSpatial’s Building Data Model Platform supports Multi-Family and Residential Construction projects, as well as all their stakeholders. Here are the ways we provide this support:
Full Building Lifecycle Support
Details of building construction are establish early and become a vital point of reference well past completion.
Diverse Construction Enterprise Support
The independent yet coordinated effort of many trades rely on accurate and up to date information about the site project, the buildings, units, and materials.
Broad Construction Product Material Support
Planning and construction of buildings span a wide range of materials that go into its completion, such as millwork, cabinets, flooring, trim, paint, etc. All superimposed on the same design and structure.
Complete Collaboration Department Support
Collaboration between all the business functions is key to getting the project completed on-time, efficiently, with the least risk of penalties.
Full Building Lifecycle Support
The building data model that emerges in the NuBDM platform, beginning from CAD image takeoffs, is not just
another drawing. It is a 3-dimensional model that will grow as more information is added and stakeholders update
and reference.
The BDM is first created a number of ways:
- Imported from commercial CAD tools
- CAD image takeoffs
- Hand laser measurements
NuBDM speeds up the process of design, collaboration, and tallies compared to processes that are available today. It is often the centerpiece in a proposal from which tallies are made and cost factors formulated and provides visualization for the business and by the client. During a project, it is the central repository of information for all stakeholders to that access in real-time from offices and in the field. All of the construction details and status are there to see and visualize in virtual reality. Annotations help collaboration and documentation of tasks and issues.
The building’s history and accumulated data move on to be a valuable asset after the project’s construction is complete and has been turned over to the owner or facility management. Property management will have a unique ability to provide virtual navigation to prospective tenants—the flooring looks real and the amenities are easy to see.
Facility Maintenance will superimpose, in visually realistic ways, key maintenance detail history and actions, as well as scheduled maintenance actions. A tenant can point out and communicate concerns or issues that need redress.
Diverse Construction Enterprise Support
The Building Data Model is a central artifact that becomes an important collaborative resource for all who need it. It can be defined, owned, and used by a single entity, or setup and shared by all stakeholders involved in the project. The NuBDM stores a virtual repository of information on the current and planned state of all building construction and layouts. Just as the corresponding physical buildings include floors, units, and floor plan models, so does the NuBDM. As each new building comes to life, there is a focus and rush of activity in it, and so will be the virtual building data model for that building in NuBDM as it becomes a valuable resource for all stakeholders.
Broad Construction Product Material Support
The construction of multifamily units is a complex endeavor and not only involves labor provided by a range of subcontract
trades but also involve a wide range of construction materials built into and placed in buildings. These materials and components
include, for instance:
- Drywall
- Doors, Windows, and Trim
- Paint
- Flooring
- Cabinets and countertops
- Bathroom fixtures
- Electrical, lighting, and data points
- Appliances
- Shelving and blinds
To name a few.
These materials and components represent distinct points of interest and focus and often are handled by different subcontractors and distributors but they all fit into the same space and undergo similar bidding, proposal, installation, and inspection processed. These details become and are integral to the project and will frequently be the focus of collaboration.
